چکیده

In the recent trends, it is noticeable that INS/GPS system is used widely. In contrast to stand-alone system, integrated systems are much reliable. The main motive of integrating the INS/GPS system is to overcome their individual discrepancies. The existing technologies comprise stand-alone GPS, INS, MEMS/GPS, RISS/GPS using Mixture Particle filtering, CP-DGPS/INS using wheel encoder and electronic compass, INS/ANN, fuzzy logic. This paper offers to date survey of most of the major content to the pool of INS/GPS outcomes for land vehicles. Also, the operation and comparison of their various attributes is summarized. The readers are provided with a better insight of all the existing technologies, overcoming the short-comes of one over the other, thereby identifying the areas for future research.

A Hierarchical SLAM/GPS/INS Sensor Fusion with WLFP for Flying Robo-SAR's Navigation

In this paper, we present the results of a hierarchical SLAM/GPS/INS/WLFP sensor fusion to be used in navigation system devices. Due to low quality of the inertial sensors, even a short-term GPS failure can lower the integrated navigation performance significantly. In addition, in GPS denied environments, most navigation systems need a separate assisting resource, in order to increase the avail...

MEMS IMU Error Mitigation Using Rotation Modulation Technique

Micro-electro-mechanical-systems (MEMS) inertial measurement unit (IMU) outputs are corrupted by significant sensor errors. The navigation errors of a MEMS-based inertial navigation system will therefore accumulate very quickly over time. This requires aiding from other sensors such as Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). However, it will still remain a significant challenge in the prese...

Applications of Inertial Navigation Systems in Medical Engineering

Inertial navigation systems are of the most important and practical systems in determining the velocity, position and attitude of the vehicles and different equipment. In these systems, three accelerometers and three gyroscopes are used to measure linear accelerations and angular velocities of vehicles, respectively. By using the output of these sensors and special inertial algorithms in differ...

Embedded Vehicle Dynamics and LASER Aiding Techniques for Inertial Navigation Systems

This work evaluates the impact of two state-of-the-art aiding techniques to enhance the performance of inertial navigation systems (INS). A new embedded methodology to integrate the vehicle dynamics (VD) in the navigation system is proposed, by modeling it directly in the Extended Kalman Filter. The embedded VD and the INS algorithm propagate simultaneously the inertial states, allowing for the...

Precision and Reliability Incensement of Inertial Navigation System with Rotation and Redundancy

Precision and reliability are two main performance characteristic in low-cost Inertial Navigation System(INS). Increase of precision in low-cost INS without auxiliary sensors is main challenge. Bias instability leads to position drift error in inertial navigation system. In addition, fault occurrence makes the sensor reliability is decreased. Rotation of Inertial Measurement Unit(RIMU) and use ...
